Membership
We strongly feel participation with USS should not be financially crippling; therefore, we have worked out what we feel is a reasonable fee schedule. If you have membership questions, please e-mail to membership@unitedsidesaddle.com  Your membership fee includes the following:
  • Registration in the awards program for yourself and one equine member
  • Membership card
  • Receipt of Sidesaddle, Ink. the official USS newsletter
  • Discounts on USS sponsored events, programs and merchandise
  • Assistance with your sidesaddle riding education

Membership fees are as follows:

  • Adults Annually (18 and over)   $25.00
  • Juniors Annually (17 and under) $15.00
  • Lifetime (All ages)  $375.00 (= 15 years)
  • Registration of additional equine member ...................... $10.00 per equine
  • Lifetime registration of additional equine member .... ......$150.00 per equine (= 15 years)
  • Two or more equine membership transfers per year ..... $5.00 per transfer
  • Rental of USS owned materials and merchandise ......... Varies
  • Purchase of USS merchandise ....................................... Varies
  • USS Affiliated Club ........................................................... $5.00 (one time fee)
  • Advertisement in newsletter Sidesaddle, Ink.

Memberships run from January 1 to December 31

Memberships received and approved from January 2 thru September 31 will run until December 31 of that year. Points wil accrue from acceptance date until December 31 of current year.

Memberships received and approved from October 1 thru December 31 will run until December 31 of the following year. Points will accrue from acceptance date until December 31 of following year. This may only be utilized once by any member.

Memberships are nontransferable.

Equine Memberships may be transferred once during a calendar year at no charge. Two or more Equine Membership transfers per calendar year will be charged $10 per transfer.

Points do not transfer to new Equine Member.

Equine Lifetime Memberships are not transferable.

If Equine Membership is being transferred to a previously paid Equine Member, no refunds will be given.

If original Equine Member is owned by second party, owner will be notified of transfer.


USS Affiliated Groups


USS applauds regional and specialty sidesaddle groups. One of our objectives is to act as a hub for groups worldwide. Via Sidesaddle, Ink., our newsletter, and our website groups will be able to keep abreast of each other's activities. We will also be able to forward inquiries from the public to the most suitable group(s), whether it be geographical or specialty.

There is a $5.00 one time fee to register with USS. This fee includes receipt of one quarterly issue of Sidesaddle, Ink. The newsletter may be copied for all members. Announcements of the group's upcoming events in the "Prepare to Mount" feature or past events in the "Where Sides Matters" may be submitted to Sidesaddle, Ink. at no charge. Groups are also automatically registered for participation in the USS Affiliated Club Challange (see
Awards)

There are a few requirements to register
      1. One member of the group must be a member of USS

      2. The application must be signed by an official of the group

      3. A one time $5.00 fee is required 

      4. Registration must be renewed each year

      5. Any changes within the group must be noted on annual renewal form

      6. If membership is not renewed annually USS will consider the group dissolved 
          In order to reinstate group membership in following years a new $5.00 registration fee must be submitted

      7. In the case of a name change, USS will consider it a new group and a new $5.00 registration fee must be 
          submitted
